The Social Project Gets A Make-over

January 18, 2019

Wow-oh-wow, you guys, I am still overwhelmed with how many people fell in love with the idea of The Social Project as much as I did. And I am still blown away by how many incredibly talented creatives are right here in the Simcoe County & GTA area. Yay for boss babes, passionate entrepreneurs & community collaboration! You all rock.

If you follow me on social media then you should probably know that The Social Project recently underwent a little branding exercise with Rebecca from Hello Harmony Studio. And since then has branched off onto its own social platform under the identity of @project_social_. We are all really excited for all the things we have in store for this project this year!

We’re moving from your eyes to your ears

That’s right, we’ve recently decided to change things up a bit and create a fun, inspiring, community thriving podcast. And that’s not all. Each episode will not only interview our guests on business, creativity, and life – but we will also push their creative brain a little bit outside their comfort zone by doing an activity they might not necessarily be good at. The point of the social project is to get out and put yourself in an atmosphere for creative inspiration, doing something new and exciting to hopefully learn & grow from it. We can’t wait to show you what we have planned for some of our guests this year (even a few returning ones that we will announce very soon!)

We’re filling your belly & giving back to the community

We are SO excited to be introducing a semi-annual Social Brunch that will take place at some pretty incredible locations around the Simcoe County & GTA. This brunch will be full of fun interactive activities, with tons of bubbly, extra special giveaways, guest speakers, and will always include an extra special design based on the location. That’s not even the best part. The proceeds from your tickets will be donated back to a local charity, and our first brunch will be donating to one of my favourites – local dog rescue Lost Boys Hope <3

We’re giving everyone a chance to really thrive this year

I get a lot of emails and DMs from people who want to be part of the social project, who want to learn more about flat lay styling or how to properly brand their social media pages. For me, one of the biggest things when starting out was just getting the content I needed to help build up my brand. This year we will be offering a Social Workshop designed for creative entrepreneurs just starting out. The workshop will include:

  • A full branding session including worksheets & takeaways you can work on at home
  • A social styling class that includes a lesson on my three go to flat lay styles (and how to figure out which one fits your brand!)
  • Creative interactive classes to get your creative juices flowing, learning and getting inspired by some extremely talented people
  • Photography head shot session with a photographer whose style lines up with your branding
  • A Q&A session with all of the vendors involved in the workshop
  • Giveaways! Sponsored by some of my favourite shops in the area

How exciting is all of that? I know I am pretty stoked to get this year going. Our first Social Project episode of 2019 is with someone I have looked up to for a looooong time [miss Hattie from @hattitudejewels & @funstans], alongside the super sweet and talented Jenn [@jennkavs] of Jenn Kavanagh Photography. Stay tuned for more information about our session coming soon, and be sure to follow @project_social_ for all the BTS details.

Thanks for listening, don’t forget to follow me on Instagram if you aren’t already doing so! Until next time
