Magical, Intimate Forest Elopement

September 28, 2020

Could this couple be ANY cuter!? 2020 was the year of elopements and this couple took full advantage with this beautiful, intimate, and adorable family experience. I loved working with Candice & Justin and their sweet children to pull together this incredible day. Having their kids there was such a sweet sentiment – they played with their toys on the rugs during the ceremony, they opened special gifts from their parents and took in every moment of the joining of this blended family.

We set up the ceremony in the forest at a local Provincial Park – we knew the risk; public space we could run into someone walking or using the trail, but when these bikers came through it was hilarious and made for such a funny memory. We moved over, let them pass, and moved on with the ceremony.

THIS WAS THE SPOT. When I hiked this trail with my pups I saw this spot and looked down and immediately send a photo to Rachel screaming “This is the spot”! I envisioned this beautiful elopement here with this view and couldn’t un-see it. Unfortunately when we arrived it was a weirdly busy day and there were so many people, we wouldn’t have had a private moment (even getting this photo took some man power to ask people to hold back while we captured the moment). So we decided to move the ceremony into the forest and just use this epic location for some photos after when the kids were gone.

After their photos Candice & Justin headed back to Barrie where they had texted their family and friends to meet them for dinner at Common Good. Their guests didn’t know they had rented the space out and had a small private reception surprising everyone with the new that they ELOPED. It was perfect, simple, romantic, passionate, and wildly creative. If eloping is something that feels good in your heart, I highly encourage it! And we are here to help. Thanks for trusting us Candice & Justin, we adore you.
